Dilston Physic Garden’s pharmacognosist and neuroscientist bring to light important plant medicines shown by scientific research – in controlled clinical trials – to improve memory and mood. Exploring the contextual history of plant medicine, an introduction to the brain, the Dilston Physic Garden memory and mood plants, their traditional use and science, along with the odd bioactive plant chemical, this talk will contribute to your understanding of plant medicine for the mind and brain. We can also discuss why the controlled clinical trial method may need a little shake-up in order to assess plant medicine effectively, and can engage with a few science-backed brain boosting aromatics and medicinal teas. ‘Botanical Brain Balms Calm & Sleep’ runs in October.

£20 (concessions £15). Parking for all workshops and events is in our Top-up Car park shared with Dilston Scouts – directions.

“Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed your session today. I was already planning to revamp my herb bed and have bought an additional herb bed on legs. I will be using the books that I purchased today to plan which herbs I will be adding. I’m very excited” Lynne and Bernard.
