Writing for Wellbeing: Writing New Beginnings, with Laura Napran
While we often think of the autumn as a time when things are beginning to go dormant, this is really the ideal time to raise our mood and spirit by thinking about opening up and developing. The days may gradually be becoming shorter, but we can use our creative minds and imagination to find light within ourselves. Please join us for a special workshop when we’ll do some gentle writing activities to focus on growth, expansion, and new beginnings.
And what better place than magical Dilston Physic Garden to find our creative nature through some gentle mindful writing? As Writer in Wellbeing in Residence at the Garden and having led workshops here for 7 years, I know how these beautiful surroundings and atmosphere nurture words, ideas, creativity, and calm — as well as friendly and insightful discussion with like-minded and friendly people. Though you never have to read aloud anything you’ve written! All writing levels welcome, anyone can do it.
Please note that we are planning with the hopeful anticipation that we will be able to run this workshop with a normal capacity of 16 people (rather than as a Covid-secure workshop with limited capacity, as in the previous two years). This will mean, of course, that we will be sitting next to each other in the normal way around the tables, rather than socially distanced. During the times when we are writing, you are welcome to sit out in the garden to write (weather permitting) — but we will gather together again in the Herbology House for discussions as part of each activity.
