Independently run by local members of druids this event is part of a series of 8 which explore and deepen awareness of earth-centred spiritual heritage, symbolically celebrating the wheel of the year.

Wassail means ‘be healthy’ or ‘be whole’, hale and hearty’. Wassailing the trees in the orchard is an ancient custom to wake them up from their winter sleep and bring a bountiful crop of fruit in season. Recognising the importance of our relationship to nature, this family event toasts a chosen apple tree with an offering of cider, making much noise by all present, then shares the wassail bowl. Dress according to weather, bring a torch and snacks if you wish, there are plenty of seats and benches to sit on, and lawns if you bring a rug.

Admission free – donations appreciated. Parking for this event is in the Top-up Car-park shared with Dilston Scouts – directions.
