Ingredients: Astragalus monogholicus syn. membranaceus. 60 grams.
History & Folklore: Used in China for 2,000 years, regarded as a remedy for fatigue and lack of vitality. Li Shizhen, a famous scholar in the Ming Dynasty regarded as the father of Chinese medicine, extolled its virtues as the “leader of all tonics”.
In the Lab: Astragalus is neuroprotective and helps prevents nerve cell damage after exposure to toxic levels of the stimulatory signal and promotes nerve cell regeneration. It lowers anxiety, is anti-convulsant, protects against brain injury and improve memory in different models. As well as being anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and immunostimulant, its flavonoids relieve chronic fatigue syndrome in lab models.
To Use: 10 – 20 g / 750 ml water, simmered to 500 ml, often taken mixed with black tea per day. OR take 5 – 10 g as a tea – always add boiling water and leave to steep for 15 minutes.
