Dilston Physic Garden is a not-for-profit charity run by a community of volunteers, scientists, medical herbalists and teaching professionals. As a registered charity we receive no central funding and rely on our community of volunteers and donations in order to exist. Dilston Physic Garden is a charity with education as its principal purpose. Our mission is guided by three core commitments:
- to increase the awareness of the science-backed use of edible medicinal plants to prevent disease
- to advocate choice for science-backed plant medicine which is as efficacious as conventional medicine with fewer side-effects and
- to promote the profound physical and mental benefits of being in nature and community gardening.
As a charity, all donations we receive contribute to caring for the Garden and support us in our mission of education.
Join our Volunteer Community
With our gardening for wellbeing community, volunteers say they experience rewarding opportunities in a number of different and exciting ways. Volunteers pick up botanical tip-bits for health and medicine, improve their physical and mental wellbeing, enjoy good company, and a refreshing break from routine in a tranquil supportive environment. Join our relaxed friendly team and also gain invaluable experience and experience the rewards of contributing to our education mission.
