TaiChi: joining with the oak tree; moving in stillness.
What is the experience of standing in nature; of touching the soil; of watching a bee gather pollen? What is the connection between our gut microbiome and that of the Earth; between our hearts and the natural world; what is the cosmic connection?
In this 30/45 minute workshop you are invited to join Bodywork for the Mind Founder John Thorne in an exploration of our connection with nature, and how it can nurture our Souls. We’ll use simple Taichi/Qigong movements to calm and balance the Mind to improve appreciation of our surroundings. Please wear comfortable clothing for ease of movement.
During the workshop you will learn how to be more aware of, and present to your natural surroundings; you will learn about natural harmony and vibrations, and you will learn about how your fellow humans, animals, and plants respond to you, and how you might modify that response for a more rounded and harmonious experience.
The three main topics for exploration are:-
1. Calming the breath for relaxation and harmony
2. Posture, balance and gesture
3. Intention setting, and mindset change
We’ll also explore what is meant by the ‘felt experience’, and we’ll have some fun by taking our Qigong for a walk using ‘Beginner’s Mind’!
