Join herbal storyteller: Amanda Edmiston in the Sitooterie at Dilston Physic Garden, for a magical step into the world of the Botanica Fabula: a place where fairytale, legend, folklore, traditional plant use, social history and science meet, for this multi-sensory storytelling session suitable for all ages.
Amanda has been a professional storyteller and interdisciplinary artist and writer for over 16 years, her work has taken her to festivals in Poland, museums and botanic gardens across the UK and toured schools and universities across China, this session will draw on stories and workshop elements she was commissioned to create for the award winning ‘Lost for Words’ film team and will later this year be shared at the Scottish International Storytelling festival.
Each story and folkloric aspect will be accompanied by a herbal infusion or encounter with the plant it connects to as Amanda layers her work with the plants she works with, the fascinating objects she collects and sound-scape elements using percussion instruments to set the scene of the stories.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Cost: £10 per head, children £7, family of up to 5 £25
