Join Amanda Edmiston in the Herbology House at Dilston Physic Garden, for a seasonal step into the magical world of the Time Traveller’s Herbal and Botanica Fabula, herbal storytelling: a place where fairytale, legend, folklore, traditional plant use, social history and science meet.
Each story and folkloric aspect will be accompanied by a herbal infusion it connects to and you will be invited to create a tiny nettle paper notebook, in which to start collecting your own personal memories of plant use, a gift to save or to hand on.
Amanda will also be signing copies of her first book The Time Traveller’s Herbal which ticket holders can purchase at a special event offer price on the day of £13, or can order at full price, in advance to collect on the day, (this will guarantee you get a copy and all pre-ordered editions on the day will come wrapped in tissue with a handprinted envelope of herbs, ready to be gifted. You also have the option below to pre-order one of textile artist: Jean Edmiston’s tiny talismanic bags, each plant dyed, upcycled silk bag is unique and will come beautifully wrapped with a gift of herbs.
Every participant will also receive a tiny hand printed envelope of one of the herbs featured in the books recipes for themselves, to take away and try.
All tasters and materials provided.
